Caring for Natural Stone
The natural stone you have purchased for your home is an investment that will give you many years of service.
Granite, marble, and quartzite are all-natural products and require simple care and maintenance.
Cleaning & Care
Clean the surface with soft cloth and stone cleaner. If the cleaner does not say suitable for natural stone, do not use it.
Use mild dishwashing detergent and warm water.
Do not use products containing ammonia or acids. This included products containing lemon juice, vinegar, bleach, or other general all-purpose cleaners.
Do not use any abrasive cleaners
Do not allow any oil, red wine, or chemical substances (drain cleaner, bleach, etc.) to sit on countertops. If spills occur, clean up immediately.
Maintenance & Use
We advise using hot plates and trivets under hot dishes.
Always protect the surface with trivets or cutting boards.
Do not sit or stand on countertops.
Do not drop objects on or place excessive weight on the surface.
Use coasters under glass, especially if containing alcohol or citrus juices. These liquids will not hurt your stone but can break down the sealer.
Use placements under china, ceramic, silver, or any other objects that may contain silica. Silica is a natural component of your stone’s make-up and may cause small scratches to appear. This is most common with marble.
